RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION—WHAT IS IT? |
|
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a gradual process for welcoming new members into the
Catholic Church. It is a process of journey and discovery of the fullness of being Catholic. The
process begins with an inquiry period that is open to all seekers. As people are moved to deeper commitment, the
RCIA provides opportunity for more extensive spiritual growth. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is for
those who have never been baptized, those baptized in other Christian traditions who desire to become Catholic,
and those adult Catholics wishing to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Anyone wishing information on
the RCIA, please call Gerard at 209-823-7197, ext. 30 or e-mail gerard@st-anthonys.org. |

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A SPONSOR? |
|
| All of those who are going through the RCIA program need a companion, or sponsor, for their journey of faith. Sponsors serve as fellow travelers who share and encourage. Your faith story is of value precisely because your experience has brought you into a more intimate relationship with Christ and this community. Be a sponsor and share your faith! For more information, call Gerard at 209-823-7197. | |
JUST WHAT IS BEING CATHOLIC ALL ABOUT? |
|
| Ever wonder if being Catholic is right for you? Maybe you have had previous contact with members of the
Catholic faith. You may be attending Catholic Mass, or maybe you have considered attending a Catholic program
or this may be your first experience with the Catholic Church, In any case, you have probably come with
some questions about the Catholic Church, its beliefs and the Catholic way of life. We are happy to give you some information about the Catholic Church, the Mass, and the Eucharist and share some of our basic beliefs. Do Catholics really worship Mother Mary? Do Catholics pray to saints? What is the real presence in the Eucharist? What is the Trinity? God always speaks the truth to us and we attempt to pass it on faithfully and meaningfully. If you would like to inquire about the Church and what it means to be Catholic, call Gerard at 823-7197 x 30 or e-mail: gerard@st-anthonys.org. |
