Bible Study

A series of bible study classes meets at various times during the year. Persons interested in exploring the themes of the Old and New Testaments and their application to life today are encouraged to attend. No previous experience in bible study is needed.
Returning Catholics

Returning Catholics is a ministry of compassionate listening that enables participants to explore their Catholic identity.  It is hoped that what emerges is a genuine, balanced look into the mind and heart of the Catholic faith as it is lived and expressed in our parish. For more information, please call Deacon Harvey Parolari, 209-599-6719 or Jennifer in the Church office, 209-823-7197.

Small Christian Communities (SCC)

Catholics in parishes across the United States are coming together on a regular basis to pray, share their stories and reflect on the Gospel message in an environment of love and acceptance. Feeling the support of their community these individuals begin to seek ways to live their faith more fully in their family, neighborhood and workplace. You too, could come to experience God's unconditional love and feel the care and nurture of others on a journey of faith with YOU .

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

Within the RCIA, the Church warmly welcomes new members and tries to provide appropriate spiritual formation according to each person’s needs. In the RCIA process, adults gradually enter into full membership in the Church through times of study and prayer, opportunities for service, and various rites which lead to Baptism, Confirmation, and sharing in the Eucharist. An RCIA process adapted for children and teens is also an active group within our parish. For more information, please read Becoming a Catholic.

Perpetual Adoration

Perpetual Adoration is round the clock adoration and prayer in front of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament.  The chapel is open to all from 6 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday. It is open to members of the ministry at all other times.  If  you are interested in signing up for a regular hour of adoration, please call the parish office at 823-7197.
Recitation of the Rosary
The rosary is prayed in the church each day before early Mass and before the Saturday, 5:00 p.m. Mass.
Cursillo Cursillo, meaning a short course in Christianity, is a weekend retreat experience and ongoing prayer group (in Spanish) which meets on Wednesday evenings. For more information, call Sandy Sepulveda at 209-239-2964.
Legion of Mary
Members of the Legion of Mary commit themselves to prayer and service to others. Members gather weekly to pray the rosary and other prayers and to share the fruits and struggles of their ministry in the community. Devotion to the Blessed Mother, model disciple for all Christians, supports the members in their varied apostolic works of love. Ministry includes such works as bringing the Eucharist to people who are homebound or in the hospital and praying the rosary with patients in skilled nursing facilities. There are both morning and evening Legion of Mary groups.
Prayer Shawl Ministry You may have wondered who gets a prayer shawl and why. Prayer Shawls are given for many reasons, such as: special anniversaries, illnesses, surgeries, birthdays or as a thank you for service. Prayer Shawls are given to let a person know that he/she is in the prayers of the Prayer Shawl Ministry and the person requesting the shawl. And, yes, men receive them too; they are presented with a lap throw. You may request a shawl by filling out a form found in the back of the Church. Return it by coming into the Parish Office in person, or call Peggy Magnan at 825-5509 or Geri Rogers at 824-5310 with the information on the request form. Please allow enough time for our volunteers to be able to make and pray over your shawl request. We meet once a month (4th Thursday of the month) where the requests are handed out. It may take another month to get it completed and prayed over by our ladies before getting presented at Mass. New members are always welcome.
Ministry of Mothers Sharing (M.O.M.S.) MOMS is a peer led process of support and growth for mothers of all ages. This 8 week process helps members see with their call to Christian motherhood and supports them in their journey. Groups form as the numbers warrant. Call the parish office for information.
