Please read the parish policies outlined below. This will avoid confusion later on in the process. If you have questions about the policies or the process, call the preparation coordinator, Gerard, at 209-823-7197

  • Preparation begins with the initial contact. This must be done a minimum of six (6) months prior to the tentative date of the wedding. (Longer is suggested.) At that time, a requested date is submitted. A $150.00 deposit is required at the time a date is requested. If the couple misses any of the appointments without good cause or fails to complete the requirements, the tentative date and deposit is forfeited.
  • The Foccus Inventory is used in the Stockton diocese to allow engaged couples to become aware of the strengths of their relationship and to highlight areas that may be in need of discussion. The goal is to assure that the engaged couple is more fully prepared to enter a sacramental marriage. This is not a pass/fail test but a tool to look at the relationship. After taking the Foccus, the engaged couple will be contacted by members of the team who will make an appointment to review the results of the Foccus.
  • Part of the preparation is participation in either an Engaged Encounter weekend or the one day Parish Marriage Preparation Experience. If you choose the parish experience, call the office at 823-7197 ent. 30. For the Engaged Encounter dates and information, call 209-656-9041
  • A couple will meet with you to discuss the results of the Foccus Inventory. You will be called to set up the time of the appointment. Please bring the completed packet of forms given to you. You will each need to secure a new copy of your baptism certificate. (New means that it was issued within the last 6 months.) These will be passed on to the priest or deacon who will preside at your wedding. If you have any questions about these forms, call the parish office.
  • You will be meeting with the priest or deacon that will preside at your wedding and will also attend a workshop to assist you in planning the ceremony
