| The story of the Parish of St. Anthony in Manteca can best be told through the history and growth of the community. Manteca, California is located 70 miles east of San Francisco in the beautiful San Joaquin Valley. The valley is rich with dairies, farmlands, vineyards, fruit trees, vegetables, and nut orchards. The area’s good soil, excellent climate, and clean water paved the way for a successful farming center. Over the decades, the Valley has grown into one of the greatest agricultural areas in the world. In the recent years, however, the area’s image changed to include technology as well. It has become a ‘bedroom community' for the industrial sites, west of the Altamont Pass. Today, the Parish of St. Anthony is a Christian community that is ‘One in the Lord’, despite the diversity in culture, age, and education. |
